Today on Beautiful Booze one of my best friends Stephanie Forrer is sharing the ultimate list of cocktails you should be sippin’ on in Seattle. Stephanie and I have been eating and drinking our way through Seattle and other fun travel destinations for a while now. We recently decided to partner up and share some of our favorite places to booze around the world! Also once you are done with this article, check out my list of fun boozy spots in Mexico City on Stephanie’s blog: Eat, Drink, Travel Y’all!
When Natalie put me on a mission to find Seattle’s best cocktails, I took it very seriously. No one knows more about cocktails than Nat and I’ve been a huge fan of Beautiful Booze for quite some time. I’ve lived in Seattle a little over three years now and have just about ate and drank my way through this town. Here are some of my favorite cocktails being served around town right now. Some are just classic Seattle and others are so new and interesting I had to include them. Cheers y’all.
Up first is The 5 O’Clock Shadow at Heartwood Provisions. Okay guys, let me start by saying that this is not my normal type of cocktail, but it was so unique that I had to try it. I mean who can say no to a drink with a Ham Garnish? (Not me.) Here’s the full line up: Black Pepper Infused Scotch, Moscatel Sherry, Lambrusco, Lime & Serrano Ham Garnish.
I can’t get enough of Goldfinch Tavern in the Four Seasons in downtown Seattle. They have fabulous food and cocktails and their signature cocktail just had to make this list. Say hello to the American Goldfinch: Local Citizen & Capitol Gin, Cocchi Americano & Sibona Camomilla. I am very into that little chamomile flavor this drink has going on.
No Seattle cocktail list would be complete without something from Rocco’s. This slightly seedy yet super elevated bar in Belltown combines amazing craft cocktails with stellar pizza – I’m sorry but what could be better? Um, absolutely nothing. This cocktail was a Bartender’s Choice concoction. It consisted of Evan Williams, Honey Syrup, Lime Juice, Egg Whites, Mezcal, Orange Bitters and Mint and it was absolutely bomb. So go to Rocco’s, eat awesome pizza, tell the bartender what you like and drink up.
I don’t like to play favorites y’all, but this is my favorite cocktail on this list. Say hello to the Where There’s Fire at Terra Plata. First, I feel that I am obligated to mention this is “THE” place to go in Seattle for farm to table awesomeness. The rooftop garden here is sick and brunch on the roof in summer is one of the most amazing experiences you can have in Seattle. Back to the cocktail! This bourbon deliciousness just stole my heart right away: Bourbon, Smoked Paprika, Honey & Lemon. SWOON, y’all.
Next up, one of my all time Seattle cocktail favorites; The Skinny Bitch at Von’s 1000Spirits. Made with their house sanctified vodka, this cocktail is just uber unique and delicious. House made cotton candy serves as a simple syrup for this delightful beverage – because, come on people, cotton candy needs to be in cocktails. The Skinny Bitch: Sanctified Vodka, Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit & Cranberry Juice and Spun Sugar.
A Seattle classic indeed; the Bloody Mary at Sam’s Tavern. This Bloody is constantly making top Bloody Mary lists in the country and once you have it, you will know why. Not only is the cocktail itself bomb, the slider which sits atop it is also stellar. It’s just a perfect little cocktail, meal included. Go here and make this your brunch.
And finally, I am going to end this cocktail line up with a simple but amazing cocktail; the Margarita. And you’ll find no better margarita in Seattle than at Señor Moose. This family owned restaurant in Ballard has equally amazing food and margs; but today we are talking cocktails and the margaritas here are on point. Please go enjoy, order a side of guac and you won’t be disappointed.
Thanks for following along on my Seattle cocktail journey, y’all. Now, go drink! CHEERS!
