I finally found some blood oranges last week so I had to make some cocktails with them and didn’t want to use them up by juicing them so after a few trials I ended up using the Monin Blood Orange syrup in their place and saved the beautiful fruit as a garnish. This cocktail started as a classic whiskey sour but I found that the blood orange worked better with a white rum and the orange bitters really help to just top off the flavors.
Recipe:
- 2 ounces white rum
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- ¾ ounce Monin Blood Orange
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- 1 egg white

Method:
- Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice
- Shake hard to chill and combine ingredients
- Strain out ice and hard shake again for a silky consistency
- Fine strain into a cocktail glass
- Garnish with blood orange
- Enjoy!
