Viejo Amigos

When we were approached by Pernod Ricard to partner with them for their Be A Convivialist campaign we were really excited, as this is something we really believe in and strive for in our everyday life. While living on the road, we make every attempt to meet new people and leave our comfort zone in an attempt to assimilate into different cultures. One thing that makes this easy is sharing drinks, either at a bar or over a meal, and getting to know each other better. It only made sense to work with a company who embraces this concept and inspires its representatives to do the same.

We decided to have a garnish party and invited some friends over to our apartment for an evening of cocktails. We had a few bottles of tequila, wine, and whiskey to play around with alongside fresh fruit juices and a whole range of syrups. Our favorite cocktail of the evening was this Viejo Amigos concoction, which combined tequila, red wine, lime juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. It turned out so delicious and looked amazing with the lemon/lime twist around the stem of the glass and the red wine floating on top.

Recipe:

Method:

  1. Combine all ingredients, except wine, in a cocktail shaker with ice
  2. Shake to chill and combine ingredients
  3. Strain into your cocktail glass over fresh ice
  4. Float red wine over the top
  5. Garnish & Enjoy!
