When I first started Beautiful Booze I discovered Heritage Distilling, which is based in Gig Harbor Washington, very close to where I lived in Seattle. 5 years later, when they contacted me to work together on a Valentine’s Day cocktail I was super excited to put something together. One of my favorite products that they have in their impressive line up is the Brown Sugar Bourbon and it sounded like the perfect pairing for a Breakfast Martini, as the brown sugar really adds great flavor to cocktails.
I had a lot of fun, mixing up this cocktail, as working on variations of the Breakfast Martini is always really exciting for me. Finding different jams, citrus and balancing agents can take some time, however, after a lot of experimenting, I realized that keeping it close to the original was the best way to go. The strawberry jam I was using wasn’t very sweet, so I substituted some additional sugar syrup to balance the cocktail, though you may want to taste your concoction and adjust the sweetness accordingly.
