My cocktail recipes usually develop around whatever I’m doing in my day-to-day life and as I come across items that aren’t traditionally used in cocktails it only makes the process more interesting. I am really into Kombucha at the moment and when I was in my local store I came across KYLA Hard Kombucha with a hint of Ginger Tangerine and immediately wanted to take it home to experiment.
I bought the ginger tangerine flavor and for some reason a Penicillin cocktail came straight to mind. The flavor of fresh ginger in KYLA with the tart tangerine worked perfectly with whiskey and lemon. I wanted some earthy notes also so instead of using regular simple syrup I swapped in a little agave syrup and it rounded everything out without making the cocktail too sweet.
- 1 ounce whiskey
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- ½ ounce agave syrup
- 2 ounces KYLA Hard Kombucha with a hint of Ginger Tangerine
- Combine whiskey, lemon juice and agave syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice
- Shake hard to chill and combine ingredients
- Fine strain into rocks glass over ice cube or fresh ice
- Top with Kombucha
- Garnish & Enjoy!
