Spring into Spring

I’m so excited to see all the entrants for the Beefeater Gin #DrinkWithYourEyes cocktail competition and to have partnered with the company to share this delicious Spring into Spring cocktail with you. Spring is possibly my favorite season ever, with all the beautiful colors and fresh ingredients, it really makes mixing cocktails fun. When I was approached to mix a delicious gin cocktail with a spring theme I headed straight to the store to see what I could come up with. As it isn’t March 20th just yet, I didn’t have all the wonderful ingredients at my fingertips, however, I was able to mix up this wonderful sour variation.

I thought it would be awesome to deliver a cocktail that looked so beautiful and delicious, yet still retained the balance every cocktail deserves, as is the Beautiful Booze way, so I used some fresh strawberries and mixed them in with fresh lemon juice and Beefeater 24. The cocktail was pretty good, but it was a little tart, as the fresh strawberries aren’t exactly as sweet as you may think. This gave me the great idea, if I may say so myself, of mixing up an earl grey tea syrup. I was inspired when thinking about how to work in the origin of Beefeater along with the Beefeater 24 tasting notes, which include tea. Everything was great and with the addition of the egg white to meld all the flavors together, it was perfect.

Recipe:

  • 2 ounces Beefeater 24
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • ½ ounce earl grey syrup
  • 3 fresh strawberries (chopped)
  • 1 egg white

Method:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice
  2. Shake hard to chill and combine ingredients
  3. Strain out ice
  4. Shake hard again to further emulsify ingredients
  5. Double strain into a cocktail glass
  6. Garnish & Enjoy!
