Raspberry Jam Margarita

by James Stevenson

My favorite thing is to create fun Margaritas using fresh fruit that I have lying around the house. This week I found some raspberries on sale and decided to use the leftover from my salad in my cocktail. In addition to the raspberries I sweetened up this tequila delight with some raspberry jam. Have fruit? Have jam? If you answered yes to any of these questions it is time to make a fun fruity Margarita!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces of tequila
  • 5 raspberries, chopped
  • 1 ounce of lime juice
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of raspberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon of agave or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of water
  • 1 cup of ice

Garnish: Lime

Instructions:

  1. Add tequila, raspberries, lime juice, agave, raspberry jam, water and ice to cocktail shaker
  2. Rim serving glass with salt
  3. Shake mixture then pour into serving glass
