Partida Margarita Bar

by James Stevenson

I am so excited to share a fun margarita Bar with you today featuring Partida Tequila. This margarita bar is perfect for a Cinco party or any other party you may have this summer. It’s easy to set up pre party then guest can make their own margarita based on their flavor preference. The flavors that are in this recipe in pineapple, watermelon, and pomegranate but other flavors could be used depending what is in season. The first thing to do to prepare this bar is to make the base margarita mix. I hate the mix you buy in stores because it is way too sugary and the citrus tastes really artificial. The most important ingredient in margaritas in the fresh squeeze lime juice so taking the time to squeeze a ton of limes is well worth it. If you are in a time bind and can’t juice all the limes I would recommend using a tart high quality limeade. After you squeeze the limes agave nectar is added to the mixture to give it a hint of sweetness. Next, prepare the flavor juices I used store bought pomegranate juice and pineapple juice. For the watermelon I blended half a watermelon with 1/2 cup of water then strained the mixture for a fresh watermelon juice. Add some salt and some garnishes and your margarita bar is ready to go. When guest arrive they will mix the base mix with a fun flavor to create their own margarita. This fun interactive bar takes the pressure off the host of having to make multiple drinks. Let’s celebrate Cinco de Mayo with friends and Partida Tequila with this festive margarita bar!

Possible Drinks

  • Pineapple Margarita
  • Pomegranate Margarita
  • Watermelon Margarita

Margarita Bar Instructions:

Supplies:

  • Base mix: you will need around 1 lime per margarita, agave nectar, and some water
  • Tequila: I went with a Partida Tequila Blanco for this recipe not only is the flavor amazing the bottle is a pretty centerpiece
  • Water: Club soda for a non-alcoholic version is always a good idea as well as water to refresh your guests
  • Ice: the most important part of the party
  • Garnishes: I think that margaritas in general really improve by having garnishes
  • Juice: The juice for the margarita bar makes the drink.
  • Glasses: I used small mason jars because they are fun and inexpensive but feel free to mix and match with what you have at home
  • Juice Glasses and Labels: I put the juice in clear bottles so the juice color could be brought to life
  • Table Deccor: I used a Mexican blanket and some other décor to carry over the Cinco de Mayo theme

Not only does it make the drink look amazing it is always fun to have something to nibble on and enhance the flavor of the drink. For this margarita bar I had sliced pineapple and watermelon as well as pomegranate seeds. You can use anything you wish and seasonal fruit is always a fun option. For this bar I had three flavors including pineapple, pomegranate, and watermelon. I like to mix and match glasses at parties because I think it adds a nice design element to the set-up. I salt rimmed each glass to make it pretty and more festive. I would use whatever glasses you have at home and call it a day. It makes for a pretty set-up with minimal effort. I also used colorful sticker labels to the flavors of the juice for a cute touch. There are a lot of creative things you could do here so add your personal touch and bring out your creative side. There are so many options. I like to use whatever I already have at home instead of buying a bunch of stuff. Keep in mind that the juice and tequila bottles are so pretty that you don’t really need much decor or any at all.
