Burnt Citrus Margaritas

In winter I love using citrus and making Margaritas with fresh citrus is so easy! I created these Burnt Citrus Margaritas to use up some of my favorite winter citrus and they just look so beautiful and delicious. I also burnt citrus slices to give the cocktails a little extra flavor and for the garnish to really make it pop!

Recipe:

  • 2 ounces tequila or mezcal (mezcal makes it extra smokey)
  • 1 ounce citrus of choice (Lime, Orange, Lemon or Grapefruit)
  • 1 ounce Monin triple sec
  • Salt (for rimming)

Method:

  1. Rim your glass with salt
  2. Toast/burn citrus of choice
  3. Place the burnt citrus in a shaker tin
  4. Muddle citrus to extract juices
  5. Add tequila (mezcal) and triple sec into the cocktail shaker with ice
  6. Shake hard to mix and chill ingredients
  7. Fine/double strain into a cocktail glass
  8. Garnish with burnt citrus
  9. Enjoy!
