Spring vibes are here, and what could be better than a seasonal cocktail made with an Italian orange liqueur. I recently discovered Gran Gala, which is made from a rare blend of VSOP Italian Brandy infused with the amazing flavor of fresh oranges. I must be honest here and tell y’all that most of my favorite gourmet things in the world come from Italy, including this perfect and versatile liqueur. Not only did this liqueur make me reminisce about my trip to Italy, but it also inspired me to create several cocktails with spring flavors.
The rich orange flavors are a perfect pairing for not only classic cocktails, but I also find that adding just a splash to my nightly creative cocktail really pushes the flavor next level. I love mixing sour cocktails and this was the perfect ingredient to blend with the fresh fruit and citrus. I used gin as the base as I wanted the light aromatic notes to play a part without overpowering the other ingredients in this concoction and the Gran Gala does a great job of emulsifying all of the ingredients.
- 1 ounce of Gin
- 1 ounce of Gran Gala Triple Orange Liqueur
- ¾ ounce of lemon
- ½ ounce of blackberry simple syrup
- 1 egg white
- 3 ripe blackberries
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice
- Shake the mixture to chill and combine ingredients
- Strain out ice
- Shake mixture again
- Double strain into a flute glass
- Garnish with blackberries and flowers
