Last week I spent some time with some old college friends and they host a lot of parties over the warmer spring/summer months, so we got together and thanks to my partner Smirnoff, created this great punch for them to replicate all summer long. We wanted to incorporate some fresh fruits from around their home in Florida and didn’t want the booze to overpower the fresh citrus and berries.
While we were at the market getting some fresh fruits and citrus we spotted some beautiful flower bouquets and thought they would really make the punch pop a little more so we got those too. Once we had our flavor components we obviously needed some booze that wouldn’t compete with the flavors. We grabbed a bottle of Smirnoff vodka and knew it was exactly what we needed because it’s odorless and tasteless, so the fresh flowers would stand out every time someone took a sip. We also threw in a little sparkling pinot grigio to give the concoction some effervescence and finally to balance everything out some simple syrup was added.
- 1 bottle of Smirnoff No. 21 vodka
- 1 bottle of sparkling pinot grigio (or any sparkling wine of your choosing)
- 2 cups of lemon juice
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 3 cups of mixed berries and pomegranate seeds
- 10 basil leaves
- 1 lemon (sliced)
- Edible flowers
- In a punch bowl combine all of the ingredients and top with ice
- Stir to mix everything together
- Serve chilled
