Bella Gioia‘s 26-year-old chef/owner Nick (Nico) Daniele is turning out some of the finest Italian food in New York City. He was born and raised in Staten Island, but his Sicilian heritage coupled with his classical culinary training at world renown schools, both in Parma, Italy at ALMA Scuola Internazionale di Cucina Italiana and NYC at The French Culinary Institute and experience at Del Posto, Arté Cafe, and Cooking Channel make him a millennial chef to watch for the best Italian.

Chef’s modern interpretations of classic Sicilian dishes make his winter menu one you don’t want to miss.
Bella Gioia’s guests will feel as if they’ve entered an Italian farmhouse, with its vaulted brick ceiling, reclaimed timber beams, and wine cellar cave, featuring fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Hecho Inc. was responsible for overall design and build, including the storefront made of repurposed wood-slatted elevator doors that extend to the interior entryway. Once inside, guests can take a seat at the large, inviting circular 12-seat bar made of train depot wood, and clad with brightly colored broomsticks that wind around the core of the space, beckoning visitors. The gorgeous room lends itself to hosting special dinners, events, and parties.
Chef Daniele also believes in giving back to his community and donates food to the CHIPS soup kitchen just across the street from the restaurant. He also participates in numerous charitable events annually.
