Basil and Cantaloupe Margarita

Today I am sharing a fun summer themed recipe that will get your evening started. I love the summer because the melons are so ripe and so sweet; these melons are also amazing to use in cocktails. For this Margarita I used cantaloupe and basil to add some dimension to the normal Margarita. I took an entire cantaloupe and blended it then strained it; this process made a cantaloupe juice that can be used to upgrade anything including Margaritas. I find that this melon flavor makes the Margarita taste super fresh and summery especially when you add basil. Make this fun Cantaloupe and Basil Margarita tonight!

, Basil and Cantaloupe Margarita


  • 1.5 ounces of tequila
  • 2 ounces of cantaloupe juice
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon agave nectar
  • 5 basil leaves, torn
  • 1 cup of ice


  1. Pour all ingredients into a shaker except ice
  2. Shake mixture then strain into serving glass over ice
