Spiced Coffee Old Fashioned
Posted Dec 15 | By Natalie Migliarini
Today’s cocktail was designed to warm the soul on a cool winters night, or really just any time you’re thirsty. One of my favorite cocktails is the bourbon old fashioned and today I have incorporated a little cinnamon to give it a great seasonal kick. I also couldn’t help but to use these awesome etched glasses with a map of Seattle I was sent from The Uncommon Green and when I think of Seattle I think of coffee.
We are lucky to have local Stumptown Cold Brew Coffee in Seattle but any cold coffee will suffice if you it isn’t available at your local store. Combine these 2 inspirations together and you have a great cocktail that encompasses everything you could want during winter in Seattle. Take a great spirit like bourbon and sweeten it with a little bit of sugar then accentuate the already gorgeous flavors with some coffee and cinnamon and you’re set. If you don’t have any cinnamon and are in a pinch then you a bit of cardamom or ginger would make great substitutions.
Although inspired by a cold winter in Seattle there is no reason why this delicious concoction can’t be enjoyed all year round with friends or family. If you really want to impress this holiday season mix these cocktails up fresh for your friends.
The Uncommon Green has an awesome collection of glassware with etching from all over the world. See if they have your city and us the discount code “BeautifulBooze15” for a 15% discount.
