Today we wanted to make something sweet and refreshing to start the week. These lemon drops are exactly what I needed and the Crabbie's just gives them the edge to set them apart and really makes your tastebuds dance. Using fresh produce is always preferred but recently I have found that in cocktails it is so much simpler to create syrups with berries and other items that would otherwise change the viscosity of the cocktail and they retain the fresh flavor for as long as you like.

Ingredients:

  • 3 ounces Vodka
  • 1.5 ounces Triple Sec
  • 1.5 ounces Blackberry Simple Syrup (recipe below)
  • 3 ounces Lemon Juice
  • Topped each with 1 ounce Crabbie’s Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer
  • Sugar Rim and Orange Slice garnish
  • 1 cup Ice

Method:

  1. Rim each glass with sugar
  2. Add vodka, triple sec, blackberry simple syrup and lemon juice into a shaker
  3. Shake hard to combine and chill ingredients
  4. Double strain into 3 separate mini coupe glasses
  5. Top with Crabbie’s Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer
  6. Garnish with lemon slices

Serves: 3

Blackberry Simple Syrup:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 15 blackberries

Method:

  1. Add sugar, water, and blackberries to a saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil then simmer until the sugar is dissolved
  3. Strain mixture then cool
